Vintage French Face Powder Box – Lorenzy-Palanca “Nymphea”
c. 1920–1935
1.75" W x 1.75" D x 1" H
A charming vintage face powder box from the Parisian cosmetics house Lorenzy-Palanca, known for its elegant early 20th-century packaging. This petite cardboard box once held pressed powder and features its original label in soft green and cream tones, marked Poudre Adhérente & Invisible – Nymphea. The delicate floral side print and scalloped border speak to the era’s refined feminine aesthetic.
Still intact inside is the original folded paper powder wrap—an uncommon detail that adds to its appeal for collectors. The box is structurally sound with only minor surface wear appropriate to its age.
Style it on a mirrored vanity tray, alongside antique perfume bottles, or tucked into a shadow box display. This piece also pairs beautifully with gold-tone frames and other French toiletry collectibles for a romantic vignette.
Lorenzy-Palanca was active in the interwar period and known for products that merged naturalistic branding with French elegance—this box, named Nymphea after the water lily, reflects that perfectly.
