Stoneware escargot pot set of 10
Set of 10 Vintage & Antique French Escargot Pots
France, early–mid 20th century
A curated lot of ten French escargot pots in assorted tones of stoneware and ironstone, each hand-selected from a larger collection. These small, thick-walled vessels were traditionally used in French kitchens for preparing and baking escargot, designed to retain heat and withstand high oven temperatures.
The group includes a natural mix of shapes, glazes, and subtle color variations—ivory, oatmeal, sand, and warm beige—reflecting the utilitarian production methods of regional potteries. Their weight and simplicity make them especially appealing for contemporary use: salts, herbs, small servings, or purely as sculptural accents grouped in a bowl.
Each set is unique; the ten pots you receive will be selected at random.
Condition
Good vintage and antique condition with small firing marks, glaze variation, and minor irregularities consistent with functional stoneware of the period.
