Antique French green transfer bow and garland assiette plate
Boulenger Chinon Dinner Plate (c. 1890–1910)
size: 9"
A beautiful antique French terre de fer (ironstone) dinner plate by H. Boulenger & Cie, produced at Choisy-le-Roi and bearing the Chinon pattern mark. The design features a delicate border of laurel foliage punctuated by small ribbon ornaments, classical of period French tablewares, when neoclassical motifs quietly returned to everyday domestic objects. Rendered in classic French green transfer printing, sometimes called bleu-vert, a cool 19th-century printing-ink tone.
The surface shows the gentle wear and speckling expected of utilitarian ceramics of this age, along with the warm ivory tone characteristic of terre de fer glazes. Perfect for layering into an eclectic table setting, serving holiday pâtisserie, or displaying as part of a curated kitchen wall.
