A complete two-volume set of the collected lyric works of Jean-Baptiste Rousseau (1670 to 1741), not the philosopher, but the foremost French poet of the early eighteenth century, celebrated across Europe for his odes and cantates. Printed by Pierre Didot l'Aîné at the Galeries du Palais National des Sciences et Arts, Paris, in the édition stéréotype, the same legendary Didot press responsible for the most admired small-format editions of the French classical canon.

Both volumes bound in original rose marbled paper wrappers, matching. A complete matching pair. Interiors clean with clear verse typography and minimal foxing. Good antique condition consistent with age, with wear to the spine crowns. Sold as a set of two.
