French Cuillère à Olives –2 sizes

Sale price$45.00

These hand-carved wooden spoons were once everyday tools in the rural French kitchen, most commonly found in the south of France. Used for retrieving olives, cornichons, or other preserved foods from ceramic crocks, the slotted design allowed brine to drain easily—simple and practical by design.

Small: 9 ¾”; Large: 11 ¾” (no slots)

Tools like this were common in the 19th and early 20th centuries, especially in rural households that preserved their own food. Made by hand and shaped through use, they reflect the humble experience of daily life in the French countryside—where tools were functional, enduring, and made to serve a purpose.

These cuillères à olives are lovely displayed in a pot on the counter or layered into a kitchen vignette. The slotted design is not only functional but also adds sculptural charm. Use them as intended for serving, or keep them on display as a nod to the beauty of everyday tools.
