French faïence, transfer-printed in gray-green on a glossy cream ground.

A footed compotier on a plain pedestal base, the rim banded in a pointed dentil edge above a repeating pattern of small tied floral bouquets, each linked to the next by a light swag looping between them. The foot carries its own border, a scrolling band of acanthus vine, distinct from the rim pattern above. Marked on the reverse A. Lebacqz, St Amand, M. Bouchart, shape number 989.

Wear consistent with age and use, sold as found.

Historical Context
A. Lebacqz and M. Bouchart worked together as a faïence house in Saint-Amand in the early 20th century, their joint mark appearing on services shown at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle.
