A richly produced facsimile edition of Auguste Vitu’s Paris Il Y A Cent Ans originally published in the late 19th century this volume is a romantic and visual journey through the Paris of a century prior, complete with 400 wood engravings drawn from period sources.
This 1989 edition was published in celebration of the centennial of the Eiffel Tower and comes bound in a spectacular Art Nouveau inspired embossed cover with dramatic black on black relief, stylized florals, and gold detailing on the spine. The endpapers feature an elegant repeating laurel motif, and the paper is of premium, heavyweight stock with a tactile deckled edge.
Printed by Jean de Bonnot, this edition includes a printed facsimile of the author’s signature and a certificate of authenticity noting the use of traditional typographic methods.
