An antique French soup plate in the Provence pattern, made by Moulin des Loups & Hamage in the Nord.

The border carries garland swags dropping between ribbon bows, rosette paterae set within medallions, and stippled panels, a neoclassical revival vocabulary in green transfer, with a beaded band running the rim.

Wear consistent with age, with some irregularity in the glaze and transfer. Sold as found.

Historical Context
Moulin des Loups & Hamage took its name from the Moulin-des-Loups quarter of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux in the Nord, where the factory was located, and the windmill printed on the reverse is the firm's own mark. The garland-and-ribbon border belongs to the same neoclassical revival taste that shaped patterns like Sarreguemines' Juliana, drawing on Louis XVI motifs that stayed popular in French tableware well into the twentieth century.
