A French school oil on canvas depicting two putti tumbling on cloud drapery, 18th century, Rococo. The teal-grey atmospheric ground and dusty rose and lavender palette are fully within the Rococo tradition of the period. Partially legible signature or date lower which may clarify attribution. The carved and gilded wood Régence/Louis XV frame is period and original to the painting. Paint losses and darkened varnish are present and disclosed. 

Hang in a period interior, a library, or a collected salon. The small scale and intimate subject make it exceptional above a desk, in a hallway, or as part of a symmetrical arrangement.
