Antique French Ironstone Café Cup & Saucer | Paris Bistro, c. 1900

Sale price$88.00

A highly collectible antique French ironstone café cup and saucer, once a staple in bustling Parisian bistros at the turn of the 20th century. Designed for durability, these thick-walled cups helped retain the warmth of café crème or chocolat chaud, while their sturdy construction allowed them to withstand daily use in lively establishments where patrons gathered for coffee and conversation.

This example features classic blue trim, hand-painted accents on the handle, and a beautifully aged crackled glaze—a hallmark of its history. The fine crazing across the surface, developed naturally over time, enhances its charm, lending depth and warmth that only decades of use can create. Though unmarked, pieces like this were commonly produced by renowned French ceramic houses such as Sarreguemines, St. Amand, and Digoin, which specialized in utilitarian ironstone for cafés and restaurants.

Authentic patina with fine crazing and staining throughout, adding to its character and timeworn beauty. No chips or cracks. Please review photos for details.

A true piece of Parisian café history—perfect for collectors, display, or everyday use.
