Carved Green & Gilt Mirror with Floral Crest
19th century
27.5” H x 15.25” W
A beautifully hand carved wood mirror in a striking palette of celadon green and warm gilt, adorned with a profusion of scrolls, florals, and shell motifs in the Rococo Revival style. Likely crafted in France or Italy around 1900, this piece reflects the enduring influence of 18th-century design, reinterpreted with 19th century craftsmanship and color sensibility.
This mirror features ribbed green panels framed by scrolling acanthus and finely detailed florals, with a crest that combines classical symmetry and romantic flair. The mirror glass may be a later replacement and shows minor signs of age appropriate to its history.
A standout piece for a powder room, entryway, or layered salon-style wall — full of charm, character, and decorative appeal.
