Antique Brass Cherub Wall Hook
Antique Brass Cherub Wall Hook
France, late 19th century
Sold individually
Approx. 2.25" H x 2" W
Decorative cast brass wall hook featuring a classical cherub figure entwined with grapevines and foliage. This type of figural hardware reflects the late 19th-century French taste for Neoclassical and Renaissance Revival ornament, often used on small furniture, coat racks, or as decorative wall mounts.
The piece is sculptural in form, with good depth and detail, and retains a warm aged brass patina consistent with age and use. Mounting holes are present at the base.
Condition:
Vintage condition with surface wear, patina, and minor irregularities consistent with age. No structural issues noted.
Styling Ideas:
These petite brass cherub hooks work beautifully in small moments where detail matters. Use one or two in a powder room for hand towels, in a kitchen for aprons or market bags, or beside a vanity to hang jewelry or ribbons. They also layer well into gallery-style walls or can be mounted individually as sculptural accents when function isn’t required. Their warm brass tone pairs easily with linen, stone, aged wood, and painted surfaces—equally at home in traditional interiors or mixed into more modern spaces for contrast.
Notes:
Listing is for one (1) hook. Two available. Sold separately.
