Collection 1: Atelier Piersen

Student of Jansen and Vasseur, François Piersen (1897-1982) began his career at Gouffé  in Faubourg Saint-Antoine* in Paris, where he established a luxury decor department. Then under the  Piersen name, in Faubourg Saint-Honoré**, François Pierson spent half a century, creating a multitude of styles. Notably, he designed the interiors of Mr. Mignot, in Paris and Reims, of Ms. Verdé Delisle, among others. These sketches are a very special collection from the Piersen archives.

*Faubourg Saint-Antoine: Known for its long history of craftsmanship and manufacturing, particularly in furniture and decorative arts. Many renowned artisans and designers, including those specializing in luxury goods, have been associated with this neighborhood. **Faubourg Saint-Honoré: This district is renowned for its luxury boutiques, high-end fashion houses, and art galleries. It has been a center of elegance and sophistication for centuries, attracting wealthy patrons and discerning clientele.

Collection 2: Jean Després

Jean Despres, a prominent French jewelry designer, was renowned for his innovative and avant-garde pieces, particularly during the Art Deco period. His designs often incorporated geometric shapes, minimalist aesthetics, and unconventional materials like silver, enamel, and hardstones. Influenced by Cubism, Despres's work showcased a blend of simplicity and elegance, making him a significant figure in the world of jewelry design. His pieces are highly sought-after by collectors and are displayed in prestigious museums like the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.

Collection 3: René Morin Pochiet

René Auguste Morin, a French jeweler, was born on September 6, 1896, in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Val-de-Marne. He passed away on August 11, 1989, in Luynes, Indre-et-Loire, at the age of 92. He married Alice Pochiet (1901-1985), daughter of the jeweler Maxime Pochiet (1877-1955), creator of the Edyad brand, on July 30, 1921, in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. René Auguste Pochiet initially set up his workshop at 17 rue Béranger, 75003 Paris, in the Enfants-Rouges neighborhood. He later moved to 39 rue Volta, 75003 Paris, in the Marais district. His hallmark was registered on February 25, 1933. It featured a brilliant cut diamond surrounded by the letters RMP, which stand for the initials of his first name and last name (R and M for René Morin), and his wife's last name (P for Pochiet). This hallmark appeared in the "Azur" directory from 1937 to 1983. This directory was a reference book listing the addresses of all manufacturers and merchants of jewelry, jewelers, and goldsmiths. The brand later became "Morin Pochiet, fils et successeurs" (Morin Pochiet, son and successors). It existed until 1983.
